InstructionsMark the centre line on the back of the gold piece of card. Trace the pattern centrally onto the back of one of the gold pieces of card. If you don't have any tracing paper grease proof paper can be used instead. If you intend to make a these cards again it is best to glue the pattern onto some thin scrap card (a cereal packet is ideal) and carefully cut out the patterns to make templates. Cut around half of the design to one side of the centre line. If you trim just inside your pencil line it will ensure that the line does not show on the front of finished card and saves rubbing out. Score along the centre line from the top of the design to the bottom. Do not score outside of the design as this will show on the front of your card. Fold the cut portion of the design to the front of the card and stick the holographic card to the back of the panel. A little double sided tape can be used to secure the cut our portion of the design to the front of the card. Stick the completed panel onto your card and draw around it using a gold gel pen. To position the panel accurately, cut a strip of scrap card 1.75cm wide and use this to draw a faint pencil line 1.75cm in from the top and two sides of the card. This will give you an accurate guide when positioning the panel. For the gold lines, cut another strip of card 0.5cm wide and use this like a ruler, butting it up against the panel. Finish your card with a peel off greeting, rubber stamp or handwriting. This technique would make a lovely valentines card, marbled paper could be used in place of the holographic card with a heart for the design. |
