Reverse Peel Off Teddies |
Roughly cut out the design you wish to use first. If this is the first time you have tried reverse peel offs, choose a design with fewer small pieces of peel off. Remove all the excess peel off from around the design. Take a strip of low tack masking tape about a centimetre longer than the reverse peel off image you wish to use. If you don't have low tack masking tape you can stick normal masking tape onto your clothing and pull it off, repeat three to four times to reduce the stickiness. Place the masking tape along one edge of the design. Cover the whole design in this way, overlapping each strip of masking tape with the last one. Use a boning tool or the back of a teaspoon to press the masking tape down onto the peel off sticker. Now comes the tricky bits! You need to remove your peel of design and the masking tape from the peel off backing paper. This is easiest if you peel the backing paper away from the masking tape and peel off sticker as a pose to the other way around. Work slowly and carefully as some parts of the sticker may not come straight off the backing. When one piece starts to pull away from the masking tape stop pulling them apart and push them back together firmly, then start pulling again. Position your peel off design onto your card panel. Try to avoid putting any pressure on the masking tape where it lies straight on top of the card without the sticker in between. Use a boning tool or the back of a teaspoon to put pressure on top of the masking tape that covers the sticker. Gently peel off the masking tape, leaving the sticker behind. Again this is trickier than it sounds. Instead of pulling the masking tape up from the card, pull it across, flat against the card. Do this very slowly and if any part of the sticker comes up with the masking tape, stop pulling and press the sticker down firmly, then start pulling again. When all the pieces of masking tape have been removed your design is complete and there's just the card to finish off. If you want to recreate the gold edge look in the example shown, brush the edge of the card panel on to a gold ink pad. Repeat this until you are happy with the effect. Use double sided tape or glue to stick the card panel onto your A6 card. Then all that is needed is a peel off greeting, or a rubber stamped greeting, you could use rub ons or your own handwriting. |
