Framed Greeting Cards |
InstructionsUse a pencil and ruler to make marks 3cm in from each edge on the back of the front card panel. Draw lines between the marks. Use a craft knife and cutting matt with the ruler to cut out the square aperture you have drawn. Use 3D foam pads to stick the greeting panel to the back of the aperture you have just cut. Now for the fun part, decorating the frame. The three cards shown are just three of hundreds of ideas. You can use punches, confetti, mini gems or decorative jewels. Paper and fabric flowers and leaves will look great, weather you use a single flower or a whole bunch. You can embellish the frame with ribbons, peel offs or rubber stamps. Try cutting pictures from wrapping paper or use photographs. You could stencil designs onto the frame or dry emboss if before sticking the panel in place. Punched FlowersUse a cocktail stick to apply a small amount of PVA glue to the centre of one of the punched daisies. Place another daisy shape on top twisting it slightly so that both sets of petals can be seen. Use another dab of PVA to secure a sequin to the centre of the flower. Let your flowers dry completely before arranging them with the leaves on your card. When you are happy with your arrangement glue each flower and leaf in place with PVA glue. 3D ButterfliesCopy the butterfly shape onto the small square of paper and cut it out. Starting at the pointed end, make small fan folds up the shape. The smaller and more even the folds, the more dramatic the butterfly will be. Hold the butterfly in it's fan and wrap some thread around the middle several times before tying it. Do not make the knot so tight that the folds are squashed, it only needs to be held firmly. The thread can be eased up or down the fan to get it into the centre. The paper can now be fanned out to create the butterfly shape. FlowersThe flowers are simply stuck to the frame using sticky tape which is hidden beneath the petals. |
