You Will Need:
Cut some scraps of card into strips 1.5cm, 2.5cm and 5cm wide. Use these like a ruler to draw lines on the back of the front card panel. Draw 2 lines 2.5cm in from each side. Draw a line 1.5cm down from the top of the card and another 5cm below this. Repeat this 3 times which should leave your last line 1.5cm from the bottom of the card. Cut out the 3 square apertures using a sharp craft knife and a ruler. Once you have cut one set of apertures you can use this first card as a template to draw the other apertures. Don't forget to erase your pencil lines. Even a new blade in your craft knife will still leave the edges of your apertures a little rippled. For a professional finish run a bone folder or a similar rounded edge tool along the raw edges. There are two ways of creating the subtle colours shown in the examples. You can use chalks or an ink pad applied with a makeup sponge. Use a pin to pierce a hole at the top and bottom of each aperture in the centre. There are two bead designs used. The first is; 3 rocaille beads, an e bead, 3 rocaille beads, 1 European bead, 3 rocaille beads, an e bead, 3 rocaille beads and finally 1 e bead. The second design is; an e bead, 3 rocaille beads, a European bead, 3 rocaille beads, an e bead, 3 rocaille beads, a European bead, 3 rocaille beads and an e bead. Thread the first bead onto the wire and thread the end of the wire back through the bead pulling it tight to secure the bead. Thread the rest of the beads onto the wire before securing the last bead in the same way as the first. Thread the end of a bead string through one of the last holes at the top of an aperture, through it through a few times so that it is held securely. Thread the bottom of the wire through the bottom hole in the same way. Use double sided tape to stick a 10 x 21cm piece of cloud nine card inside the Dl card.
