Start by cutting the papers to a size you feel is appropriate. Arrange the papers on the card until you are happy with the layout. Then stick them to in place using double sided tape.
Stick the peel offs onto the acetate. Colour in the peel offs using permanent ink pens, glas paints can also bee used if desired.
Pen work should be done from the back. Start with the lightest colour, let it dry and then go over with the same pen to produce a deeper colour on shaded areas. If your first colour layer starts to come away with the second, apply this to the front but be careful not to get any on the peel off lines.
For best results on the leaves, colour them first in yellow and then in green. Leave your designs to dry.
Carefully stick the adhesive sheet to the back of the acetate. It is best to peel off just a small corner of the backing from the sheet and line the acetate up with the straight edges. Slowly peel the rest of the backing away, ensuring that the adhesive sticks to the acetate evenly, without any air bubbles.
Remove the backing from the adhesive sheet and stick the holographic paper to the back of the acetate.
Carefully cut out all the pieces. Non stick scissors are ideal for this.
Fix your peel off design to the prepared card with double sided adhesive pads.
Hold one end in place with your finger and gently pull the rest of the peel off straight. Press it into place with your other finger and then snip off the excess with a small, sharp pair of scissors.
Punch a small hole in your cards or paper, you can use a large pin or a small kittling needle for this, make sure you protect your work surface. Push a brad through the hole and open it out at the back.
Decide on the dimensions of your centre panel. Decide on the border width you require. Most of the exmaple cards use a 0.5cm border. Deduct the width of your panel plus twice the border width from the width of the card. Divide this figure by 2. Cut this width of card from the right hand edge of the card. Divide the width of your panel plus twice the border width by 2. Draw a line this distance from the right hand edge of the card. Deduct the height of your panel plus twice the border width from the height of the card. Divide this figure by 2. Draw a line this distance from the top and bottom edges of the card. Cut the base card along the lines you have drawn, so that your desired size of panel (plus borders) protrudes out from the rest of the card. Cut the backing card to 1cm narrower than the base card and use double sided tape to stick it to the inside front of the card.
