Start by cutting the papers to a size you feel is appropriate. Arrange the papers on the card until you are happy with the layout. Then stick them to in place using double sided tape.
Stick the peel offs onto the acetate. Colour in the peel offs using permanent ink pens, glass paints can also bee used if desired.
Pen work should be done from the back. Start with the lightest colour, let it dry and then go over with the same pen to produce a deeper colour on shaded areas. If your first colour layer starts to come away with the second, apply this to the front but be careful not to get any on the peel off lines.
For best results on the leaves, colour them first in yellow and then in green. Leave your designs to dry.
Carefully stick the adhesive sheet to the back of the acetate. It is best to peel off just a small corner of the backing from the sheet and line the acetate up with the straight edges. Slowly peel the rest of the backing away, ensuring that the adhesive sticks to the acetate evenly, without any air bubbles.
Remove the backing from the adhesive sheet and stick the holographic paper to the back of the acetate.
Carefully cut out all the pieces. Non stick scissors are ideal for this.
Fix your peel off design to the prepared card with double sided adhesive pads.
Run the edges of the card along an ink pad to produce a subtle border.
To create a mottled background or border effect on your cards use ink pads and a sponge. Place some scrap paper under your work so the ink doesn't get everywhere. Dab your sponge onto the ink pad and then onto your work. A speckled effect is created if the sponge is placed onto your work them immediately removed. For a more mottled effect try moving the sponge around on your work in a circular motion.
Cut a piece of scrap card to the same size as your card or panel. Mark the squares (or rectangles) of the size and position you would like on the scrap card. Use a craft knife and cutting mat to cut out the squares you have drawn. Use masking tape to secure your template to the back of the front panel of the card. Use an embossing tool to emboss the squares. The embossed squares can then be left plain or they can be embellish with ink or chalks, re-using the template to ensure your ink doesn't get on the rest of your card. The embossing stage can also be skipped completely and the template used just to colour a specific section of the card. It's a good idea to hang onto these templates as you will use them time and time again.
